Dancing with a Mission
Join Health Outreach Foundation and all of our dancers as they Dance with a Mission to help the homeless of Kansas City.
Health Outreach Foundation’s mission is to “make a sustainable, long term and life changing difference in the lives of those without regular access to medical care through innovative provision of healthcare services”
The global pandemic that has been raging since early 2020 has made delivery of this mission the most challenging it has ever been. HOF’s programs includes outreach overseas, but also to those experiencing homelessness in Kansas City. It is this local program that directly benefits from “Dancing with a Mission”. Access to healthcare has been increasingly difficult during COVID, but we have continued offering frontline healthcare throughout the pandemic, with our partners at Artists Helping the Homeless, and most recently, with clinics at reStart.
It has been especially difficult to continue dental service which has been suspended for much of the pandemic, only recommencing in April 2022 with our existing partners, and also other local providers. Since early 2020, we have been working with several local agencies to provide volunteer based, free medical care to the community including health and wellbeing checks, primary care consultations, Over the Counter and prescription medicines, ongoing chronic disease assistance, referral services and general medical care to those in need.
The healthcare landscape for those experiencing homelessness has always been a difficult one to navigate, but the pandemic has made matters immeasurably worse. The nonprofit world has had to come together like never before to work in this community, and it has been a privilege for us to do so. At the time of writing the Pandemic continues to ravage the country, with new variants and increasing cases once again.
Thank you for your support as we enter the fourth year of this crisis. We will continue to provide frontline medical care as needed, including dental services, and the donations from Dancing with a Mission will be kept here in Kansas City to ensure those services remain available to those in need.
